CANDLE SHOP ASSISTANT

Part-Time | WAXXED | 16 Cumberland St North

2-3 shifts per week. 

Start date -October 1st 

 

We’re looking for someone friendly, reliable and genuinely excited about fragrance, candles and creating a great in-store experience to join the team at WAXXED.

This is a hands-on retail role in a fun, creative and fast-paced environment. You’ll be helping customers discover their new favourite scents, keeping the shop looking beautiful, and helping with all the little things that keep WAXXED running smoothly.

THE ROLE

As a Candle Shop Assistant, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Welcoming customers and creating a friendly, relaxed shopping experience
  • Candle cleaning and labelling with STRONG attention to detail is a must
  • Helping customers choose candles, fragrance and other WAXXED products
  • Learning our scents and products so you can make recommendations
  • Processing cash, debit and credit transactions
  • Opening and closing the shop
  • Receiving, unpacking and restocking products
  • Keeping displays stocked, tidy and looking beautiful
  • Maintaining a clean and organized store
  • Assisting with merchandising and seasonal product changes
  • Helping with packaging, labelling and other shop tasks when needed
  • Providing an amazing WAXXED customer experience

 

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO...

Is friendly, confident and comfortable chatting with customers.

You’ll need to be dependable, detail-oriented and able to work independently while also being part of a small team. Retail or customer service experience is an asset, but personality, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important to us.

An interest in candles, fragrance, homewares and the WAXXED brand is definitely a bonus.

 

AVAILABILITY

This is a part-time position.

Applicants must have flexible availability, including weekdays and/or weekends.  

We are looking to cover shifts in particular on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays.

The role involves being on your feet throughout your shift as well as bending, reaching, unpacking boxes and lifting stock. Repetitive tasks ie cleaning candles and labelling.
